                     Today in class we did our first Diamante poem.I did mine about our family pet cat.

GTS Athletics day

Today was Athletics day.Everyone had to come dressed in their house colours.I am in red.First we did the running races.After that it was time to do Sports actives.First we did the ruby boot throw.We had to throw a ruby boot and see how far it went.Next we did a water activity were you had to pass a sponge under,over,under,over.Next we did relay races but then it started raining so the school went to the hall to do Zumba.After that we did more water things and at the end of the ay everyone had free time

Spy Fox vs Bad guys

Spy fox was on a mission to stop the bad guys from flooding the whole earth he went down a hole and at the bottom was the Head bad guy’s(squid head’s)private lair.He was talking to his wife”oh yes darling I will be home in about five weeks!See you soon!”While squid head was doing his nails in the bathroom spy-fox had a snoop around!Yes!He was right!They were planning to flood the earth!So spy fox went around and destroyed as many things as possible and went to snoop around the rest of the building.There were heaps of guards on guard but spy fox beat them up all easily.But soon spy fox met with squid head oh no!!!!!!But after a long fight spy fox beat him and destroyed everything and fled. Now the world wouldn't get flooded!!!

All thanks to Spy fox!!!

A Present From the Past Book Report

           A Present From The Past By Jennifer Beck

I Liked this book because it shows how interesting the past can be sometimes.I will tell you a little bit about the story.

Emily’s Aunt Mary had come from across the world just to deliver a very special present to Emily’s family.On Christmas morning when Aunt Mary gave the present to Emily she was a bit disappointed because the present was so small.

HERE IS IT”S REALLY COOL PAST:

Aunt Mary’s mother had been nurse caring for the soldiers in the war when they got hurt.Now since the soldiers worked so hard the princess at the - Princess Mary decided to give them a reward and the nurses too.The soldiers got cigarettes and tobacco while the nurses got chocolate and sweets. When Aunt Mary’s mother had her break she went to help the volunteer nurses who worked closer to the battlefields.

One day she was helping one of the soldiers when SUDDENLY AN ENEMY BULLET ALMOST SHOT Her but the chocolate box that was made of strong metal SAVED her life!!!!!!!!!!!

I liked the story because it was a really creative story on how the author has used her imagination really well.

Reading Week 8

The tornado

The tornado

The tornado was swilling out of a really Important building.People were running out and screaming there heads off.It really was a terrifying sight.

One brave man said he would try his luck.

He went in we were left waiting for a whole day.

Then some people went in with special suits on they came out and said,”He is dead!”A lot of his family started to cry.The next day the tornado died down everyone was sad because of the sudden death.

More Work On The Film Festavail

Today Mr Shanks Told us to make a slide show shared with everyone in our group.On the this slide show we had to put on things like what inspired us to do a film about Tsunamis(What I did) Or something like what we enjoyed doing to help make the film together.

Buddy Class

Last Friday we had buddy class.Buddy Class is were two different classes meet up and in time get to know each other.Our buddy class is room 4 and they are in year 2&3,we are in year 4&5!So as you can see the year ages are quite apart but that doesn't mean we can't be friends!This week my buddy was Melody. Together we made a house and a apartment.It was good fun.

Manaiakalani Film Festival

For Inquiry this term we are making films for the manaiakalani film festival.Mr Shanks Split the class into groups to each make their own film.In my group  we have Tracey,Rottpon,Ngwe Sin,Wint and Sar Yar Chan.We are making a film about Tsunamis.I hope at the film festival that our movie gets picked!

Cybersmart learning

In Cybersmart this week we were learning about writing a quality blog comment on other peoples blog's.

We watched two videos talking about writing quality blog comments.First we went through one of the videos with Mrs Grant(The cybersmart teacher)and then we had to do one  by ourselves. We were  going through the video and stopping it to put down the time of the tip and the tip.Like this:

Our Trip To The Maritime Museum

A few days ago we went to the maritime museum.The maritime museum is not like other museums it has old boats and modals of boats.With some of the modals you could tell in real life it is a really,really big boat.Also there were things like old Maori boats and also there was an olden day shop that was cool and next to it was the house of the shopkeeper.It even had an old black and white TV!

After we had been through exploring everything we met up again in a room to have some lunch.

Afterwards we walked to where a ferry was waiting for us.When we got on the boat at first we had to sit inside at the bottom.Then we could go up to the top which was outside.IT WAS AWESOME AT THE TOP!!

I loved going in my trip it was heaps of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chromebooks hui

Last week I went to the chromebooks Hui. It's about  taking your chromebooks home!! We went through a slide deck about where I can use my chromebook and where will I keep it and charge it.

When I take my chrome book home I have to make sure I look after my chrome book and that my little sister isn't going on it.
